Ingredients: 100% glutinous rice
1. Steaming with a bamboo steamer (Standard method):
Rinse the rice: Wash the glutinous rice (Chat brand) with clean water 1-2 times, gently rinsing until the water is clear. Soak the rice (Time-saving method): Add warm or hot water and soak the rice for about 10-15 minutes. Then drain all the water. Steam the rice: Bring water to a boil in a steamer. Put the glutinous rice in a bamboo steamer or cheesecloth, spread the rice thinly, and steam over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes. Turn over: Open the lid and flip the glutinous rice to ensure even cooking. Steam for another 5 minutes, then remove from the steamer.
2. Cooking with an electric rice cooker (Convenient and fast): Measure the desired amount of glutinous rice, rinse it thoroughly, and pour it into the rice cooker. Water ratio: Add clean water in a ratio of 1 part glutinous rice : 1 part water (or adjust the ratio if you prefer very soft rice). (You can increase the water to 1.1-1.2 parts.) Tip for soft and shiny rice: You can add a little vinegar and vegetable oil (1 teaspoon of vinegar per 1 liter of water) to help keep the sticky rice soft overnight and give it a beautiful shine. Cooking: Press the rice cooking button as usual. When the rice cooker switches to warming mode, unplug it immediately and let the rice steam in the pot for another 15-30 minutes. This will give you perfectly cooked, soft sticky rice that is not soggy and doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot.
